Olle Schmidt
Olle Schmidt was born in 1960, he lives and works in Stora Aleryd, Ödeshög.
This is his first solo exhibition at Örebro Konsthall, previously we have exhibited him in a group show 2007 of invited artists from Östergötland county. He has also participated in Örebro OpenART 2008.
Olle Schmidt is a painter and is very active, after his education at Valand University of Art in Gothenburg 1994, he has exhibited almost every year. He works in a narrative tradition, and his stories are ambiguous and enigmatic. Nature is always present, people feverishly active - a bit unclear with what - and the atmosphere is somewhat surreal.
- My images may appear simple and unsophisticated but often have a dark undertone that makes them crack. The questions pile up like jackdaws in the trees while the humor is in the bush and watching says Olle. I like a blurred clarity or a sharp clarity with a blurr content. It works well when trying to portray the mental state.
