Hanna Beling

In Orebro OpenART 2011, Hanna Beling participated with Small pigs / Large pigs. Now she´s having her first solo exhibition in Örebro Konsthall. - Sculpture is my primary means of expression, says Hanna Beling on its website. I work figurative and I´m inspired by by for instance Renaissance portraiture. I dress up my sculptures and adds another dimension to the term by creating atmosphere around the main object with various props, clothing and other items. The materials I make sculptures in the wax, plastic, silicone bronze. For some time I have worked with to experiment with scales and go up and down in size. I have particularly tried to enlarge significantly, to see how the expression changes depending on whether the sculpture size under powered or over powered. Maybe I have a fascination for the untested, the incipient. My series of animals is a sample of a curiosity in me for the original, primitive mammals. "

Some famous public works by Hanna Beling is for example the head of Marie-Louise Ekman's sculpture Astrid Lindgren in Vimmerby townsquare. Likewise, Beling has sculpted the face to Ekman´s sculpture Margareta Krook, that stands in front of the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm. In Örebro she is represented by two Chihuahuas in bronze in the district Rosta.

Hanna Beling is born 1972 and is living in Stockholm.
